How much is a Cavapoo puppy?

Our Cavapoos are $1,000 to $1,600 and our F1B Cavapoos are $1,600. That covers the puppy and its care here, and a curly coat and a first year of vet visits are the costs to plan for after.

What sets the price of a Cavapoo?

Each of our puppies is priced on its own, so the figure on a puppy's page is the price for that puppy, and the last section covers tax and payment.

Much of what goes into it happens long before a family meets the litter. We are working toward health testing all of our mamas and papas, and the certificates we have are posted on each parent's page. So far the ones behind our Cavapoos cover eye, heart and kneecap exams for the Cavapoo mamas and eye and kneecap exams for the Mini Poodles. A careful breeder's prices tend to sit at the high end of the range, and a puppy is not the place to hunt for a bargain.

What comes home with a Cavapoo puppy?

Your puppy leaves us at 9 weeks with its first round of care behind it. Every puppy goes home with vaccinations against Parvovirus, Distemper, Adenovirus, Kennel Cough and Parainfluenza, plus Leptospirosis and Rabies depending on age, deworming, a puppy pack with care notes, a bag of Diamond Naturals food, a blanket with mama's scent, a written guarantee, and a microchip enrolled in your name with lifetime recovery, already paid for.

You also go home knowing exactly who the parents are, because both are named on every puppy's page, with a link to their pages and any certificates we hold. If you'd rather not make the drive, ask us. Delivery can be arranged, and each option is explained on Getting your puppy home.

How much grooming does a Cavapoo need?

A curly Cavapoo coat needs regular clipping, from a groomer or from you. For a Poodle-type coat that means a professional groom every four to six weeks for a bath, a trim and the nails, or daily brushing and combing right down to the skin if the coat stays long, because a coat brushed only on top mats at the roots and ends up shaved off. Most pet owners go for the shorter trim, and we'd say the same for a Cavapoo.

A silkier coat that leans toward the Cavalier is less work, since a Cavalier coat stays in good shape with regular brushing and the odd bath. Checking the ears weekly and trimming the nails at least monthly is good practice for any Cavapoo. For the budget, ask a local groomer what they charge for a small curly dog before your puppy comes home, and plan on seeing them every four to six weeks.

What vet costs come in the first year?

Plan on several visits in the first months, because the puppy shots aren't finished on go-home day. A puppy usually needs at least three rounds of its core shots between 6 and 16 weeks of age, spaced 2 to 4 weeks apart, and then a booster within a year of the last one.

Our puppies go home at 9 weeks, so your own vet will finish the series. A full vet exam right away also starts preventive care such as heartworm and tick prevention, which is worth pricing ahead of time. Book that first appointment before pickup day, and read our health guarantee for the timing it asks of you.

How do reserving and paying work?

The application comes first. When we've said yes, a deposit holds your puppy. A non-refundable deposit of one third of the puppy price holds a puppy that is already listed. A $200 non-refundable deposit holds a place on the waiting list for a litter that has not been born yet. Deposits are non-refundable, but they can be transferred to another puppy up to three times, or held for a year.

Cash in person, card by phone, PayPal invoice, or Venmo. Card and PayPal payments carry a 3% merchant fee. All sales are subject to 7% Indiana sales tax. The full order of things, from application to pickup, is on how it works.
