How much is a Miniature Schnauzer puppy?

Our Miniature Schnauzer puppies are $1,600 to $2,000. The price covers the puppy and what it goes home with, and the cost that keeps going after that is mostly grooming, because a Schnauzer's coat wants a clip every five to eight weeks.

What comes with a Schnauzer puppy?

Every puppy goes home with vaccinations against Parvovirus, Distemper, Adenovirus, Kennel Cough and Parainfluenza, plus Leptospirosis and Rabies depending on age, deworming, a puppy pack with care notes, a bag of Diamond Naturals food, a blanket with mama's scent, a written guarantee, and a microchip enrolled in your name with lifetime recovery, already paid for.

This price is for limited registration which does not include showing or breeding rights. We are willing to sell full registration to approved breeders for an additional fee. Prices do not reflect sales tax, shipping fees, or the 3% merchant fee when using a credit/debit card or Paypal. All sales are subject to a 7% sales tax. Contact us with any questions!

Why do prices vary within that range?

Each puppy is priced on its own, and the price on its page is the price for that puppy.

One thing that shouldn't raise a price is a label. There's no such thing as a toy Schnauzer, the dogs sold as toys or micro minis are simply small Miniatures, and they shouldn't cost more for it. Our Schnauzer color guide covers the colors, and our size guide has the parents' weights.

What does grooming a Schnauzer cost?

It costs you time, a groomer's bill, or more often some of each. The wiry double coat sheds very little, which is the good news, and it needs regular clipping, which is the reason for the bill. Most pet owners have a professional clip it every five to eight weeks, and it still wants brushing and combing at home every week so knots and mats don't form between appointments.

Some owners learn to clip at home, and that's a fair choice too. Either way you get a dog that is close to odorless and leaves little hair around the house. Plan on a bath about once a month as well, with nails trimmed monthly and ears checked every week.

What else should we budget for?

Plan for the costs every puppy brings, plus a few that suit this breed. Your puppy comes home partway through its puppy vaccinations. The core puppy shots are usually repeated every 2 to 4 weeks until a puppy is past 16 weeks old, then boosted within a year, so plan on several vet visits in the first months.

Food is the steady cost. Choose a good quality food suited to your dog's age, and keep an eye on the scale, because some Schnauzers gain weight easily. The breed learns fast and gets bored with repetition, so a puppy class earns its fee, and a good leash or a fenced yard matters for a dog that loves to chase.

How does reserving work?

The first step is our puppy application, and after we approve it a deposit reserves your puppy. A non-refundable deposit of one third of the puppy price holds a puppy that is already listed. Deposits are non-refundable, but they can be transferred to another puppy up to three times, or held for a year.

The steps from the application to go-home day are on how it works. Each of our Schnauzer puppies shows its own price, birthday and go-home date on the breed page.
